La componente A della Kappa Bootis è una variabile Delta Scuti, mentre la componente B è una binaria spettroscopica.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Crossley (nel suo &amp;quot;A handbook of double stars&amp;quot;, 1879) attribuisce alla coppia le magnitudini 5.1 e 7.2 (sono stime di FGW Struve) e colori giallastro per la principale e bluastro per la secondaria (sempre secondo FGW Struve).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
La separazione, nel 1847, risultava pari a 12.68&amp;quot; mentre l'angolo di posizione viene fornito con una formula:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
P = 237.2° - 0.05° (t-1850)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
il che equivale a dire che doveva cambiare mediamente di un grado ogni 20 anni.&lt;br /&gt;
Facendo il calcolo alla data del 2007 (ultima misura archiviata) dovrebbe risultare un angolo di poco più di 229°, minore del valore misurato.&lt;br /&gt;
A conti fatti la velocità angolare media nel periodo risulta pari a 0.014 °/anno, molto inferiore a quella stimata nel 1847.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Flammarion riportava che &amp;quot;la compagna ha un movimento retrogrado molto lento e il periodo deve essere ancora studiato&amp;quot;.&lt;br /&gt;
La stima della magnitudine, sempre secondo Flammarion, è 3.5 e 5.5  e i colori, rispettivamente, bianco e giallo-verde.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Sissi Haas ci descrive il sistema come una doppia spettacolare, in  un 60 mm a 25x  si presenta come una doppia stretta, con la principale bianca e la secondaria argentea, separate da uno stretto spazio. Nello stesso campo la doppia Iota Bootis, magnitudini delle componenti 4.8 e 7.4, separazione 38.7&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
